Culture Hair Studio is an award-winning multidisciplinary salon in Durham, NC.

With the goal of opening a second location, a 4-month comprehensive project was designed to strengthen the brand internally before decorating the brand in a way that would carve out a sustainable and impactful marketing path.

  • Brand Book: visual identity, positioning, and art direction.

  • Refinement of services and copy for the website and PR use.

  • Social Media pillars, audience, and strategy.

  • Content creation

People are the heart of Culture. Finding the right hairstylist you can trust, in a location you're willing to travel to, for a look you've been ruminating on for months- it's not an easy task. That's why these photographs make such a difference. They provide evidence of taste for the discerning client, like a portfolio. These photographs also bring the brand visual recognition. A striking and easily recognizable visual identity is an immediate invitation to buy into the community. An important characteristic of this campaign is that these photographs focus less on the technical aspects hairstylists tend to get hung up on and more on the emotional outcome of the cut- a client styled, confident and playful set in a scene exclusively shot at Culture Studio.

STORY CAMPAIGN

Known for their work in New York Fashion Week, the salon is made up of a cohort of high fashion stylists. Creating a Pinterest board-like monthly campaign of new-and-now styles with added copy that helps the public find words to describe the look is an extremely impactful service. This campaign strengthens reliability and adds more opportunities for engagement. Instagram interactions rose significantly and stylists noticed clients using these images as references.
